Life must be understood backwards, but we often forget that it also must be lived forwards.

Talent Show

Today was the school’s talent show, but I’ll get to that later.

Business, I think our teacher is seriously starting to hate the class. He seems kind of angry all the time now, as if he’s ready to blow up in a second. I don’t blame him though. In our class there’s always like only five people who answer, and then he seems to not like two of the five. Plus, people are always talking and stuff. The problem is, he’s really nice, and people take advantage of that. Oh well, I can’t control em, and I’m not going to try… as much as I like him as a teacher, I also like that I’m not really hated by anyone… well almost anyone…

Biology, we had a quiz and then… what did we do? Just like talk? Oh wait. We got an assignment for some debate about the ‘Planet Earth’ movie we watched yesterday, which I had fallen asleep whilst watching it.
Great…

So Talent Show. It was … interesting.
First up: NV cheerleaders. Lots of kicks and dancing and pyramids.
Next: Some girl singing an original song, it wasn’t too bad…
Dance Crew Time. Some Filipino group danced, and they were pretty funny.
Then my friend Anna’s brother performed a long arse piano piece. That was so boring. I’m sorry, but seriously…
Two guys performed a song (instrumental (piano and drums)) called God Knows.
Then a girl sang ‘I’m Yours’ by Jason Mraz
Followed by another dance group that did a dance in another assembly with the song ‘So Dope’ this time with Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’
M (another friend… kinda… again) sang ‘The Climb’ by Miley Cyrus. It was good (the vocals) but the dance was so … well… yeah… she shouldn’t dance, let’s just say that…
Then a girl dance crew, all asians, they were good. Guys loved them -rolls eyes- pigs.
After, R and D (two guys that are friends (kinda) of mine) played some song on electric guitars. They were REALLY boring… It sounded like they were at a funeral or something… Then for one second, they had a interesting section, and D flew onto his knees as if he was a heavy rocker… it was…. pretty boring. I’m sorry to say…
My (kinda (again)) friend A’s brother’s girlfriend played a piano piece. I liked her performance because it was a song that I’m currently playing : Le Coucou. Funny name, but annoyingly easy but complicated song. Yeah…
Then an Asian girl sang ‘Love Story’ by Taylor Swift which wasn’t bad, except for the chorus…
After, some kid played a guitar solo kind of thing that was really good, but his amp was pretty low, so that kind of killed it.
Then my friend O sang ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’ by Beyonce which was really good, but kinda dragged on…
Lastly, the teacher’s did this whole band rock and roll thing again. It was really awesome.

I think there were a few I missed, but knowing me I’ll never remember until I’m reminded.

Also, today, after school, I watched the Oprah Winfrey Show : Twilight Saga : Eclipse
So she had Rob Pat, Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, and Dakota Fanning on. Rob was pretty funny, and he spoke the most. I know that a lot of girls are obsessed with him, but I don’t get why. Other’s hate his guts. Again, I don’t get why. He’s not the greatest looking person, but he’s not the worst person out there. He’s not bad with things like interviews, but you’ll never see me drooling over him. It’s not him that everybody loves and hates, it’s his character. I just find that dumb. I’m sorry, but seriously, this whole Twilight thing is out of hand. Through the show, Oprah showed clips of Rob Pat going around to stranger’s houses where he’d knock on their door, and give them tickets to the premiere of Eclipse with Oprah. All of these people were fans of Twilight, and even more obsessed with Edward Cullen. It’s crazy how these people are so obsessed about this series. It’s not that godly. Sigh.
Then TL went to a Sorority House on a university campus, I think. All the girls were obsessed with him, and when he walked into the room, they all like spazzed. Crazy obsessed people…

Best series: Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare or Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick (for the supernatural obsessers. Go read those, and you shall toss Twilight out the window. Seriously…)

Where is this ‘break’ you speak of?

Teachers talk about long weekends, winter ‘breaks’, march ‘break’, etc, etc. And yet, there is never an actual break from work. Over a four day weekend, there were tests to study for, and presentations to prepare. Over Winter Break, there was a science project, history ISP, math ISP, and careers ISP. Either my definition of ‘break’ is different from the school’s, or the teachers’ or the TDSB just like breaking rules. I thought it was illegal to give more than 2 hours of homework to students, per subject, per night. And yet here I am, staring at about 2+ hours of Biology homework. And I thought teachers weren’t allowed to give homework, projects, etc during breaks or on holiday weekends. So unfair….

The snowboarding event seemed to be doing okay, last time I checked (which was about an hour ago…). Canada was in third in the second run, though it’s hard to hold a place unless you’re first. Even then it’s hard.
Currently, the US hold 8 medals, Germany 6, France 6, and Canada has 4. At least we’re fourth. Hopefully, we get something for snowboarding. It seemed like the lady in third was doing pretty well, though the Switz competitor was REALLY fast, having a time of only 24.45, I believe. That’s crazy! Everyone else kept wiping out on the course… A lady from Australia took a huge, and painful looking wipeout on her second run… while a Japanese woman didn’t fair much better… I think the Canadian course is a little slippery…

In English, we wrote a journal entry from the perspective of one of the characters. I chose Ralph… which I kind of regret, since the people doing Piggy or Simon would have their journals a little shorter than I will….

Bio presentations was…. okay… forgot to do the ‘hook’ at the beginning, though… C’est la vie, what’s done is done. Then tech presentations seemed to go over well, after my stupidity, and a moments panic…

See, I’d say I hate Mondays, but it’s Tuesday, so that really wouldn’t work.

Currently: Doing my bio homework….

Reading: Er… I need to find a book… preferably one from the library… it’s free.

Two Days Left

Two more days of freedom, and then back to school we go. Oh well, it was fun at least.

Yesterday, I went to Yorkdale, and we spent two hours in the Bay shopping for a suit for my dad. What a waste of two hours. Then after, we got five minutes in Indigo, and then we had to go, because my dad had to go get his hair cut. That was probably the most boring trip to Yorkdale I’ve ever had. Sigh.

So my actual Internet is kind of..used up. So if I don’t post (like yesterday) you’ll know why~

I watched How to Deal yesterday~ It was good. The movie was a mix of Sarah Dessen’s books This Summer and Someone Like You. The screen writer was able to mix the two together well. Granted, it wasn’t like crazy like Harry Potter, nor was it enlightening and amazing like Avatar, and it wasn’t about sparkly vampires like Twilight. But it was pretty good overall.

Yesterday, I also watched the Grammys. I loved the performances so much. Pink’s performance was awesome. She was singing while being pulled up on a piece of white fabric, and in the middle, she was dipped in water, which she sent flying over the audience in a fountain at the end of the song as she spun downwards back onto the ground. Taylor Swift was able to walk off with many wins, including the Album of the Year award, winning it over Beyonce and Lady Gaga. Beyonce’s performance was good too. She was singing If I Were A Boy. I love her dress in the performance~~ Lady Gaga opened the show singing Poker Face, and then another song with Elton John. As always, her performances were creepy and yet great.

Also, last night, they did a tribute to Michael Jackson. They showed a part of his movie, This Is It, and they sang with him, in a way. Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, Usher, Smoky Robinson, and Jennifer Hudson all sang with Michael (his voice from the movie). The whole tribute was introduced by Lionel Richie, who had co-written ‘We Are The World’ with Michael years ago. The tribute was touching, and after his children came up to the stand to thank the audience for the Michael’s award.

This year’s Grammy’s was definitely one that would never be forgotten.

Happy New Years (An Hour Early)

Happy New Years!!! ( An hour early in my time…)

Here’s my little blah about New Years~
2009:
It’s been a heck of a year. Said goodbye to some old friends, and hello to new ones. Got great marks and watched them fall in a flash. 2009 was filled with smiles, laughs, tears, and losses.

Top 9 of ’09:
1) Great Average for the final marks in gr 9
2) FINALLY got rid of my braces
3) Made a cool vid for an anime
4) Made some new friends at the beginning of gr 10
5) Read A LOT of books
6) Found out i have a niche for poetry
7) Had a hell of a good time at school, just because of my friends
8 ) Got a cell phone (I know that’s materialistic, but seriously I was happy)
9) Had a great Christmas Party with my family~

Bottom 9 of ’09 ( ‘I see the glass half empty, even when it’s full’ LOL )
1) Became a lazy bum over the summer
2) Forgot that studying actually helps
3) Found out that having internet means a lot of distractions
4) Watched my average fall —->
5) Realized that my new years resolution for 2k9 was forgotten and left in the dust
6) Literally, I can not remember my 2k9 resolution….
7) Got my math teacher as my math teacher (evil)
8 ) Lost two chances that I won’t get back
9) Realize I might get kicked back to NB if I don’t get my average up…

2010:
This new year is filled with possibilities, some bad and some good, but no matter what, you know it’s a part of life, and these experiences will stick with you. It’s not a test, it’s a lesson, whether you can really get through the bad and good, and not just roll up into a ball when things get rough.

My new years resolution.
Well, I’d say some grand things, but being realistic, I probably won’t accomplish any of them, especially if it’s really setting the bar too high. Baby steps all the way~

1) Live in the moment. Don’t worry about the past or the future, only in the present. Take things head on, and don’t back down if there’s still room to fight.
2) Clean up my room. No philosophy required, just need to clock in some cleaning time
3) Get my average back. Study hard and quit getting addicted to these stupid game sites that are bringing down my marks
4) Get back together with some old friends~ PLEASANT REUNION xP lmao. Never forget those people who’ve helped me through the ups and the downs since I was 1. ;P getting back with old friends can be fun anyways
5) Exercise. Gotta stop being lazy 24/7. I ain’t fat, but I got to move if I want to live long
6) Be safe, and have fun with family friends. Be happy~

Here’s a funny video that’s about the bad parts of 2k9 (it involves the death and mistakes of stars, so if you’re touchy on the subject, don’t watch)
Enjoy~

Stay safe tonight, tomorrow morning and throughout 2010~

Good luck in 2010 and have fun~^^

Snap! Holidays are over!

Wow, last week went by so fast. I still have so much work to complete. *sad*

I successfully cleaned my room. It’s amazing how much junk I had stacked up. My method to cleaning on a daily basis is kick everything to the side, and get back to it later. So that’s what I’ve been doing for the past two years, walking on a certain path, surrounded by mountains… of junk… Eh, now it’s totally clean. Which means I can also go to P-Mall tomorrow with a few friends, unless my parents decide to be a bunch of bums and not let me go, even though I cleaned my WHOLE room (when they asked for AT LEAST half) and practiced piano for an hour everyday since Wednesday last week. If they don’t let me go, then I’ll be greatly upset.

Long Weekend~

Ah. It’s finally Saturday, the beginning of a wonderfully long weekend. Lots of time to catch up on lost sleep.

Yesterday wasn’t one of my favourite days. I had a science test and a math test, which I’m sure I didn’t do too well on. Then I got home, and my internet was down, so I couldn’t post, or play games online.

Though, there was one highlight in my night last night. My family got together to celebrate my grandfather’s birthday, It was totally fun. I love hanging around with my relatives, there’s always something to laugh and joke about, and everyone always just has a good old time. We went to some Chinese restaurant, and we all know that their not the most sanitary of places. However, yesterday, at the end of the meal, the waiter was taking all the plates away and piling them on a metal cart, then when it rolled away, it left a lovely gray rat on the ground, where it ran around the floor beside our table, freaking out the waiters. It was hilarious. Though most people would be disturbed, we were just laughing our heads off.

By the end of dessert, they had caught it and taken it outside. Hey, we couldn’t complain. Dinner and a show, what more could you ask for?

Haha~

Today, is just for relaxing. I’m not going to touch any of my projects ’til tomorrow, or Monday. Yes, that might reflect as lazy, but hey, I’ve been stressing out all week over tests and homework. We all should get a day to sit down and do nothing, don’t you think?
