Life must be understood backwards, but we often forget that it also must be lived forwards.

Evacuate the School!

So today was very interesting, yet very boring.

This morning I was sitting outside my history room (even though I don’t actually have that class), since my business room’s hallway was lonely. Then Danica cam over and told me to go upstairs with her when my friend V came. So we went, and when we opened the doors to the second floor, I immediately smelt gasoline. After saying this, thinking that it was probably just some chem accident, the principal or the vice-principal came onto the PA system and told us that because of the ‘mysterious’ odor, classes on the second and third level were cancelled. My first period class was on the first floor, so I had to go to class, while Danica went to the cafeteria (where classes that were even numbered were placed). After, they continuously updated us (exasperating my teacher), saying that the fire department was there, and they were venting the second and third floor. For second period, I was in the auditorium (where classes with odd numbered rooms were sent) and was bored to tears for an hour or so.

At lunch time (well, before lunch), they announced that we would have to evacuate the school due to a gas leak on the second level. Everyone was jumping for joy. No class! No homework! Too bad I was one of the few who did have homework. Sigh. So today was basically a half day, due to the fact that our health was in danger. This took them about three hours to figure out. Thanks.

Maybe if they can’t fix it fast, we won’t have school next week too! Hehehe~~ Okay, well technically that would NOT be a good thing, seeing as how we’d have to make up for a week’s worth of work, but hey! Freedom is good sometimes.

First day back

First day back and the homework attacks. I already have bio homework, which I think is kind of sad. I know, I know, “Wait until you get to university, then you’ll be crying!” but I’m not in university yet, so I can complain about the now, because that’s all I know.

So my schedule got messed up, so I have Business first period, Bio second, lunch, Tech Design fourth, and English last. Bio and Eng switched for me, so I went from a good bio teacher to a bad one. Plus my English teacher, I just don’t understand. It took me a while to figure out he was talking about the Prime Minister, which then somehow turned into a lecture about consuming snakes in Africa. Me and my friend T spent the period wondering what the heck he was trying to tell us.

My friend Danica got me to watch this Japanese drama: Hana Yori Dango (Boys Before Flowers).

Makino Tsukushi is the only poor student at Eitoku Gakuen, the school of the ridiculously rich and privileged that is ruled by Flower 4 or F4, a group of four boys who come from extremely powerful families: Domyoji Tsukasa, the leader and heir of the Domyoji World Finance Group; Hanazawa Rui, the introverted son of a large company; Nishikado Sojiro, a player who is the heir of a tea ceremony school; and Mimasaka Akira, a madam killer with ties to the underground. If a student gets on the F4’s bad side, he/she gets a red notice and is bullied and driven out of school.

Makino hopes to pass her days quietly– without drawing any attention to herself– but one day, she stands up to Domyoji in defense of her friend. The next day, Makino gets the dreaded red notice. Even though she is harassed, Makino decides to keep going to school because she is a “tough weed”. She declares war right back on the F4. Her resolve gets the attention of her crush Hanazawa Rui and oddly enough, rouses romantic feelings in her worst enemy, Domyoji Tsukasa.

The series is based on the Japanese shoujo manga “Hana Yori Dango” (Boys Before Flowers) by Kamio Yoko.

That’s the description from the site. So far, it seems pretty good, though some parts are really funny, while others make me want to bang my forehead against a wall (mainly in the scenes with her family). I just finished episode three, so it probably gets better soon.

Final Fantasy III

Okay, so I have no work, I’m too lazy to practice piano, so I’ve decided to play my Final Fantasy game, which I had received on x-mas. I died eight times on one stage. That was utterly pathetic.

Today is my best friend J’s 16th birthday. Now see, any year that we didn’t have exams, I’d have some amazing gift. But I’ve got nothing… I totally forgot. Damned school. So this morning I was like hey it’s the 30th, one more day left ’til… AW *beep*. Yeah. Well hey, I’ve known her for four years, and have remembered her birthday everytime…. my parents have known my aunt (their sister-in-law) for like 20 years, and they remembered her birthday… today… two days late…so I’m not TOO bad…

Any present suggestions for a happy-go-lucky, upbeat, 16 year old girl? No? Didn’t think so….
I’m thinking charm bracelet…. *sigh* I hate giving presents.

My family and I are watching G.I Joe together~ I can’t wait, I’ve been wanting to see that movie for so long… so now we finally will! *happy*

Two More Left

I have…about three more hours until my history exam. And I just don’t feel like studying. Basically, I’ve hardly studied at all. Either I’m too lazy, or my friend RD is wearing on me, and I’m beginning to lose all initiative in school. The saddest part is, RD gets 90s without doing homework, trying on tests, or listening in class, while I get 60s for paying attention, taking careful and neat notes, and studying like hell. Who wins? He does. ALWAYS.

So, with my epic distractions come my friends. I’m talking to them, and there’s stuff about anime, youtube videos, and french. But no history or science cramming. Just random ‘Look this is funny!’ kind of videos.

Here’s one of them:

See that’s both entertaining and mildly disturbing.

Two more exams to go. Two! Today and tomorrow, and then the torture is over… until June. So, when I get back tomorrow, everyone will get to hear my rant about school! Yay! And then I’ll crawl into my little corner and read all the books I had taken out from the library, and shove all history and science facts out of my head. Though I’ll probably need those next year… Who knows what might happen.

*Cries* I may make it into Gr 11 Honours Math Science and Tech. Which is the program I’m in now, but I might actually pass through. That’s good on one side, because then I can stay at NV. On the other hand though, it’s SO MUCH WORK. The courses you need to take next year is: Gr 12 Chemistry, Gr 11 Functions, Gr 12 Functions and Relations, Gr 11 Physics, and some Gr 12 tech course. Fun! So much math….*sad*

Historic thoughts for the day:
Hitler did not change history. HE MADE IT. You can’t change something that was never created.
Triple Alliance-Germany, Italy, Austria-Hungary
Triple Entente-France, Britain, Russia
History is dumb, because the Triple Entente are the allies, and yet they aren’t the Triple Alliance. (sigh)
